Let's Walk Off Some pounds....

Well,today we go to the L.A. Zoo today! Last time we had the Garmin attached to my wrist and heart monitor and I walked almost 4 miles and 2,000+ calories burned in about 5 hours--just WALKING at a LEISURELY pace!!!!! Hope to do the same although more tired due to lack of sleep due to toddler waking in the middle of the night .... emoticon emoticonHappy March!

    Hi RONIE11--Your comment made me think of when I entered in my info. in a pedometer and dropped it only to have it break!LOL! But I didn't laugh since I didn't get to use it! A Garmin is like a pedometer in that it measures your distance and miles walked or ran or biked. What's great is that it also measures your HEART RATE which is very important for fitness and learning how high is your optimum heart rate.We bought the Garmin off of e-bay {in good condition;not new} for about $50.00 & it has been a super investment!There are 2 pieces-one for your wrist& 1 to put around your waist,just under your chest.My distance-3.05miles/time-5 hrs.walking/1,633 cal. burned.     Ok what's a Garmin and did it track your distance walked??? and calculate your calories??? I bought a pedometer and walked all over town and on the beach got home and the darn thing turned itself off..grrrr I don't have any luck with pedometers if I could look at my waistband and see if its working properly would I really need one??? good grief. LOL

    By the way congrats on your progress 4 miles is amazing and you were having fun too...
