Strides of March Race Report

Sunday, March 07, 2010

Yep, I said it "race report." I ran a 10K yesterday. My time, although close to 20 minutes slower than my best, was still OK considering I was hurt and ran hurt for an entire year. I finished at 11:30 pace (exactly 11:30). It was the first run I have made since last march that was under12 minute pace. So, I am pleased, and hope that the pace keeps coming down.

I did a "modified walk-run" meaning I ran most of it, but walked every now and then. I did not let my pace get more than two seconds slower than running when I was walking, so I didn't walk a whole lot. All (and I mean All) of my friends got PR's too). I am happy for them - they have all gotten so fast. That's probably what makes it so hard for me to be so slow. I should be progressing with them, but I'm not even close.

On another note, I go to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully for the last time for this hip thing. And then one more physical therapy appointment and I'm a free bird!

Say prayers for me that Doc releases me tomorrow. And say more prayers that I can get back to my old fast speed soon!
