#256: One of Those (Nice) Days
Friday, March 12, 2010
We have all had those days when nothing seems to go right, where we're clumsy and awkward and not quite in synch with the world. Like I read in a cartoon strip many years ago -- as if the world were an FM transmitter and we are an AM receiver.
Then we have those occasional days where all seems right with our universe. That's the day I had today. The two-day cold that had me down and out has lessened considerably. It drizzled for the second day in a row but the rain has lent a coolness to the air and a greenness to the grass and trees. Tonight it will be good sleeping weather.
There were a few stops to make and a several new people to meet. All of the errands were finished and all in all the day was a delightful one.
It's somewhat difficult to explain the inner peace and relaxation such a day brings.
But it's the kind of day that makes dealing with the other, slightly off tilter, days that much easier.
It was the kind of day that makes me simply say, "Thank you, Lord."
