Second Cataract Surgery
Sunday, March 14, 2010
What a difference a month makes!
I recently had a second cataract surgery on what had been my good eye. ( 20/50 prior to surgery.)
The first surgery went like a breeze, with excellent results.
I went into this surgery expecting similar if not better results.
The surgeon ran into major problems with the second eye.
My lens pulled apart on extraction rather than coming out smoothly.
A hole was caused at the back of the capsule, resulting in debris flloating toward my retina.
As a result, my vision is greatly impaired. The doctor said it could take weeks if not months before I have clear vision.
I am using a lot of eye drops which are very irritating, but necessary.
I pray my vision clears in weeks rather than months.
But I'll wait however long it takes for better vision.
The good weather is coming and I will be out hiking and biking in another week or two.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
