In the middle of tough times, I still think life is good,...it's all in the attitude, I think.
I thank God for everything...my family, home, good friends, and a long career that I still love
. My son and daughter are happy, Charlie and I are settling into life here together, knowing that they're doing well...enjoying the time alone, yet anxious for their visits. We are lucky to have the opportunities to travel, having been on trips over the past few years...and having the chance to share those travels with friends, family, and many of my students. There's something special about seeing their faces as they experience a special travel moment for the first time.
Do we have challenges? Yes, every family does...my son had cancer 2 years ago..the hardest time of our lives...right now, my father-in-law is very ill, after just suffering strokes..., praying to God every day, visiting, hoping to see improvement every day; , calling everyone to make sure that they know the latest information, so that everyone can work together to help the family, dealing with his mom who unfortunately has memory problems,...
But, in the middle of this awful time, we are choosing to continue to thank God for all he has given us. The many years of GOOD health, sharing times with grandparents, etc.
And I've finally decided, with the help of Spark People, that I must take better care of myself...and my husband is so supportive of that. Just the other day, I asked if he needed me to do some errands after school, as I had planned a walk after school with a friend...his response...you go for the walk; that's important...I'll see you afterwards! He's right..as are my girlfriends who keep telling me that exercise will help to reduce stress. So, thank you one and all...LIFE IS GOOD...let's embrace it!
