A Drastic Change

This week, the weather was amazing! Sunny, breezy and warm enough to be able to go out in a sweatshirt...and even a tshirt one day! Spring fever was in the air! I cleaned off the deck and all of the snow had melted. The kids got to play in the park, and we even pulled the scooters and rollerblades out. Winter was finally over!

And then........ I woke up!

I got up Saturday morning and I walked past the window- AND EVERYTHING WAS COVERED WITH SNOW!!! UGH! Now THAT was a drastic change from the day before!!

It felt like we were right back to where we started, months ago, with the first snowfall!
But, it is March, and I know that we will go through the melting snow again, Spring fever will return, and I will finally be able to plant some flowers!

Drastic changes can happen at any time! Sometimes they are welcome changes- a great new hairstyle, a wonderful new outfit. And, sometimes they are not so welcome- like falling off the wagon only 1/4 into the year and not being any closer to your goals. Or, something like that!

A drastic change doesn't have to be a big thing to have a big impact....bangs could change the way your whole face looks! Lipstick can do the same.

Well, same goes for our journey...we can make a "drastic change" right now...today...to get things going the way we want. It could be a big or little thing.

It could be something like:
- adding heavier weights to your workout, resistance to your cardio
-cutting out sugar and white flour
-getting up 30 minutes early to exercise
-not eating out-preplanning meals

Anything can turn things around...."drastically changing" your direction...if you do it!
So, what will your drastic change be?

Mine is simple- WATER. I do not drink enough water. I will drastically change the amount of water I drink! I will flood my body- nourish my insides and wash away all the stuff that doesn't belong in there! It isn't a big or hard thing to do- but it will drastically improve my health...over time!

The snow WILL melt...and at some point, another snow will not fall for a long time. We can count on that. We need to give ourselves something else to count on... so that when the sun shines and warmer weather really is here to stay, we will be in better shape than we are on this snowy first day of Spring!!

    Fantastic to flush your body with water. And convenient that it is part of our challenge!! I usually drink a gallon a day, I'm trying to up that for the challenge but 128oz is about all i can take. I'm peeing ALL DAY

    I'm with ya Ang....H2O will be my drastic change! I've always been one to drink it even though I'm not crazy about it...BUT, I don't always remember to drink my full 8+ glasses everyday...but since we've started our challenge, I'm determined to stick to it every single friggin' day like my life depends on it!!! Hang in there girly! emoticon

    Weather can be so weird. Good to know that they snow will stop and spring will come. It is good to make changes, really give your program a kick. I do hope that you and yours will be out again soon enjoy those warm weather outdoor activities.

    Doesn't it figure....how the weather can change! I'm lovin' my spring weather(60's during the day, sunshine)! Here's hoping, we do not get anymore of that yucky white stuff! And great job.... on figuring out where you need to change, your direction, and move towards it! emoticon

    Thank you buddy for giving me the help I needed. I too am struggling with water, it is as simple as it not being a habit and forgetting.

    I too struggle with loving diet coke. I have made some improvements by forcing myself to have water inbetween my DC. But sometimes I falter and drink not one drop of water.

    I so appreciate this blog, see you helped me.
