#277: Do You Believe In Your Success?

Friday, April 02, 2010

We get our inspiration and encouragement from many sources. One of them is books such as "The Power of Positive Thinking" and "The Magic of Thinking Big" and "The Greatest Salesman in the World" and "Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude."

But, religion aside, there is one book -- the Bible -- that perhaps more than any other has led people from despair and disbelief in themselves to exhibiting positive, radiant, vibrant personalities.

Notice the spiritual power in Mark 9:23 -- "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."

And in Matthew 17:20 -- "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed...nothing shall be impossible unto you."

Or Matthew 9:29 -- "According to your faith be it unto you."

Do you believe you WILL have a successful weight loss journey? Or are you still plagued with uncertainty?

Life becomes better and more fulfilling when we expect the best -- of circumstances and situations, other people and, most important, ourselves. Looking for the positives in life frees us from self-doubt because we then believe wholeheartedly that nothing is impossible.

But we must believe. We must have faith, as tiny as a mustard seed, that we shall overcome difficulties and obstacles and reach our ultimate goal.

People are defeated because in their heart, in their mind and in their soul, they do not believe they can be successful.

Expect the best. Always believe in yourself. Do not be denied. Do not be waylaid by insincerity or insecurity or doubts. Put your heart fully into your efforts and you will succeed. Believe, truly believe, and good things will come into your life. Visualize the new you and expect positive results.

Live your life as if your journey is of great importance because in actuality it is -- for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

Believe in your success.

I have faith and I try really hard to believe, but I still have uncertainty that lingers in the back of my mind... call it my beast of burden... or as I refer to it as my inner demons that I battle with on occasion. I have to believe.... but some days are more difficult than others.

"People are defeated because in their heart, in their mind and in their soul, they do not believe they can be successful."

That is so true; I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
Actually, I think we're all born perfect in this respect and then get it "beaten" out of us - in various degrees depending on our upbringing and our circumstances.

When you're a child everything is possible. Then the "grown-ups" come in with their rational thinking and show us our limits. I'm ashamed to say I have done the same to my kids and am trying to reverse some damage here.

Tell yourself every day that you can do it, but even more important, tell somebody else that they can do it!

Leave the safety behind and let's have an adventure today!

I do believe with all my heart and soul! If you only knew where I came from...and I have found it to be so true...that EVERY answer to EVERY question is in the Bible. For me, I don't need any other books.
    Thanks, Lou
