Understanding is half the battle

Lately I have been CRAVING carbs. Anything sweet or carb like . I want cookies, pasta, bread, etc..... want, want, want, eat, eat, eat. I have been like this for about a month now. Luckily I haven't gained any weight from it...yet. I was watching a morning news program the other day when an explanation of my symptoms was given! Apparently as women enter menopause they produce less estrogen. This means that you burn about 150 to 200 calories less per day AND you crave carbs!!! I am not crazy (well maybe a little) I'm 43. So now that I know what is causing this craving I don't have to listen to it. I know it's only the fluctuating hormone levels not something my body needs. So I must stand firmly in my resolve against sugar and white flour!!!!!

I lost weight when I was perimenopausal and this year I am IN menopause and I crave everything and gain weight just by looking at food. If you can lose weight now try and do it before full blown menopause hits! emoticon
