Busy, busy, busy

Sunday, April 11, 2010

I have been so busy lately, that I have not been able to be on here as much as I would like to be. I have been able to stop in every day, but have not been able to log much time on.

Just some of the stuff that has been happening.

My daughter qualified for states in bowling. She will be bowling on May 15! I am so excited for her. All she has to do is do what she did in districts, and she will do well.

She was also in a talent show at the school on Friday night, and she did an awesome job! All the kids did!

I have been getting out and walking more. I missed walking outside over the winter, and have been able to get out and walk at least 3 times a week for the last 2 weeks!!! Woohoo!!!

I have also been working on helping get the garden ready for planting. We usually plant around Mother's day, so that the fear of frost is gone. We were very successful last year, and are going to try planting some veggies that we have not tried before.

Today was my great aunt and uncle's 60th wedding anniversary party. It was great. Unfortunately, since they live 2 hours away, we don't get to see them as often as we should, and the last couple of years, we have only seen them at funerals and family reunions. It was so nice to see everyone for a happy occasion. Still didn't get to spend a lot of time with them today, but the time we did get to spend was great. My great grandparents on this side died before I was born, and they had some great pictures of them that I never saw before. Also, stories were shared about them that I never heard before too. It was great!

I did well eating. They had small sandwich rolls, so I had a small sandwich with lots of fruit and veggies to go with it. I had a piece of cake that was 2 bites big, and I only ate a small taste of the icing. I am not a big icing fan anyway, so that is what I usually do anyway.

Only had about 2 hours that I was able to spend with them, but the time spent was great. I really need to make more of an attempt to see them more often. They are all getting so old, I don't know how long they will be around. But they are still very active and getting around great.

I do check in everyday, so if you need something from me, just send me a sparkmail or put a comment on my sparkpage. These are the things I check first when I get on.

Hope you all are doing well!
Keep up the great work!
You can do it!

I never know when to start putting in the veg garden. We had the possibility of frost so late in the season last year :(

Congratulations to your daughter for her achievements in bowling! Good luck to her on the May 15th competition. That talent show sounded like a lot of fun. I hope all the students and parents enjoyed the successful event.

Good for you and your family for trying to plant new veggies in your garden this year. That's a wonderful way to add new healthful food to your family's menu.

Happy 60th Anniversary to your great aunt and uncle. I'm glad your family had an opportunity to celebrate such a joyous occasion. Most of my family also lives two hours away or more. We also got together this weekend, and it was great to see everyone. We used to see one another about once a month, but these gatherings have become less frequent as everyone becomes busier over the years. I have to make sure we gather as often as we can.

You should be proud of yourself for eating sensibly at the anniversary party! It's hard to do that at family functions, so kudos to you! I wish you a wonderful new week, my friend.

Good luck on your vege garden.
That will make the vege challenges a lot easier to achieve.
