Wow...just wow! This is unchartered territory for me and I feel great! I feel I had more energy and umph to go further so I stopped there while I was ahead and I didn't want to overdo it. Its amazing how the time doesn't seem that long as I go into my zone and just take in the beautiful day and surroundings. I was looking at all the gorgeous Spring flowers and blossoming trees. Life does not get any better than that and is the reason why I love to run.

I tried to take it slow and this is it, folks. It is surprising to me to see my natural pace increased over the winter. Wha???????? How does that happen? It happens by getting out there even when there is snow on the ground and its cold and gutting it out. That makes it so worth it in the end.

I put Propel powder in my water and took the last of my Chomps that I hate but they are used up now. Ack! Sticky and way too chewy for my liking. I can now go on to my pouched applesauce and fruit leathers. Can't wait to try that out.

I would also like to mention that the hills are starting to come "easier" and not so taxing on my HR. Since my neighborhood is hilly it can't help but get easier. As you can see in mile 6 I had to go up THE HILL and that booger is long. What goes down must go up eventually so I knew it was coming. It didn't take that much out of me so I was very pleased to see my pacing and HR with THE HILL.

Okay, that is enough excitement for you all at once so I shall let all of you take your heart pills so you can calm down from my riveting running adventures. Until the next installment...

Toodles!

I AM excited for you! That 1/2 is in your range and isn't that a great accomplishment? BTW - what did you think of that 20 inning Cardinals/Mets game? I thought it would never end!!

Wow. Nice job. I'd say that's probably your pace. The max HR looks reasonable based on our little chat earlier in the week. I think that's the key thing. To find out what range you need to be in and then just let that tell you whether it's time to speed up. That's basically what I've been doing, any way.

Was m3 going down "The Hill". Seems like the only blip on the high end pace-wise. I like the HR curve. Looks like you took it easy the first quarter of the run and hit your range in the middle third. Didn't really have to slow at all to hold it until the very end.

Isn't it awesome to have put in the hours during the cold and actually feel good enough in the spring to enjoy the spring flowers?! I love it! I've been dealing with injury these last couple months, but even as I get back into it, I'm slipping into it much easier thanks to the fall and winter work I did!

Congrats on the great pace and long run! emoticon

This is just great! After your blog yesterday, when you were concerned about your pace today, I wanted to check in today and see how it went. And bottom line - it looks like it went great!

Looks like you slowed when you needed to (the hill), and otherwise ran at a pace you could maintain for the whole run.

    Well done! Great job!
