#297: Computer Still Down But Not Me

Friday, April 23, 2010

Day three without my computer but I am enjoying the super fast speed connection offered by those the city provides in my neighborhood center. I think I'm getting spoiled by the speed and the large screens. emoticon

Got word today that the laptop repair guy is trying to restore my computer's operating system. He'll let me know Monday how things look. But relying on the center's computers is a good thing because the hours are limited and I was feeling overwhelmed by the amount of time I was sitting in front of the screen anyway, especially with our weather being as nice as it has been. I have just been sitting indoors too much. emoticon

I have found other positives during this problem time, too, such as the amount of decluttering and house cleaning getting done. I have a manuscript to begin inputting and editing but starting tonight I'll read over the draft while sitting outside on the porch, appreciating the cool evening and watching the squirrels chase each other around the trees. emoticon

I have been uplifted and encouraged by the positive SparkMails and profile page notes from fellow members wondering about Wednesday's missing blog and offering well wishes for a successful outcome to this computer setback. emoticon

There still is no answer to how the repairs or the cost of a new laptop will be covered but I remain positive and trust that all things will work together for good. As more and more members are discovering, being down and out does not mean we need to think negatively. There are always positives to be found in all situations, if we simply search for them.

And, I trust in the lore that a lady bug brings good fortune and keep the image of the one yesterday at the gas station in mind. Yes, things will work out. How? We'll see, but I know they will. I remain positive and upbeat. emoticon

Well, somebody is telling you you've been spending too much time on the computer...
I'm glad you're enjoying getting outside more.
    Finding balance is tricky sometimes.

I do hope that your computer can be fixed without breaking the bank. It does come in handy.

I'm often thinking back to the time before computers. How did we spend our days?
    emoticon emoticon

And when I got my first computer I think I spent at least a year before buying an internet connection. Just used it as a word processor of sorts. Wrote letters, reports, played games. Good memories.

Wishing you the best of weekends!

Ah, Lou, if I had the money I would get you a computer with the new screens (I love them!) and a high speed connection. emoticon

I am glad you are finding more time to do the things you enjoy--and the things you need to get done. emoticon emoticon emoticon I love this time of year, before it gets too hot. Being outside is so very nice. I saw a chipmunk during my morning walk! I have not seen one in many years.

Enjoy while you can, and know we are praying for a new computer or a well-repaired one.

Lou, I've been asking God for a new computer for you - and I know that if it's His will, you will have a new computer, at no cost to you.

In the meantime, your continued faithful witness is an inspiration to the rest of us.

    God's richest blessings on you,
    Nancy

Every Negitive has a positive. You have found many positives! Good for you Lou! I have been off line a few days ,not because of my computer, I don't feel well and having a difficult time keeping up with my regular task. I too am looking for the possitives in my situation. No matter how gloomy things look to us or how gloomy we feel when we start looking on the brighter side -looking for those positives we chase our blues away! Keep looking on the bright side. God Bless you. Joy

I can't wait to see how God will work this out for you! Our God is an awesome God! Thank you for being such a good witness and finding the positives in this! You are truly a good example as to not let the devil steal your joy! A great motivation too! As you've said before in a blog, it's all in how we perceive things. Keep the faith and your good positive attitude!
