Cinco de Mayo - Logging my food
Wednesday, May 05, 2010
We are going out with some friends for dinner tonight to take in some patio time at the local Mexican restaurant for dinner in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. It's one of those little mom and pop joints, so the quandary was how to calculate my caloric intake.
I decided to go with using Don Pablo's nutritional info as a guide. My calorie count (as entered and planned) shows that I will be at 1791 calories for the day. I'm okay with that because I am estimating on the high side. I don't plan on eating all of the tortillas and I doubt that I will finish all of my chicken and veggies (though I might you never know), so I entered the whole serving as my dinner. I also entered 1/2 of a serving of chips and salsa. I hope not to eat that much of the chips and salsa, but we'll see. I figure that is a pretty safe way to handle it - overestimate the calories. That is WAAAAYYYY better than underestimating. Plus, even by overestimating I'm still in my comfort zone of under 1800 calories (albeit barely). :0)
Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone!
