my weight, my health

Thursday, May 06, 2010

Over the last five years my weight has fluctuated. After quitting smoking on my birthday in 2005 I was more than diligent in cutting calories and started doing daily workouts or cardio to keep my weight down and myself occupied. It didn't help much as I gained almost 20 extra pounds ... I was outraged as I was working out and eating less and it made no sense at all.. but I got through it.
Many times I've changed my weight tracker but it doesn't seem to change on my page..but my weight isn't my concern.. it's my health.
I am pretty strict about my calorie intake but since I work overnights running a convienience store I don't have the opportunity to eat at regular intervals during the day (or night in my case)... as I am a day person who just works at night..
My tracker reads 104 while my scale reads 112... it bothers me but I know that it's muscle.. I can see and feel it in how my clothes fit me..in the lower sizes I'm going through..
Do I feel as tho I'm sitting on a plateau that I'll never break...
sometimes I do
Mentally I want to be back down to the 104 I was back a few years ago..but I know that I wasn't healthy and I wasn't strong.. just thin
and there's a big difference between being thin and fit.

I think I'll stop getting on the scale for a while and just be happy being me..

Sounds like a break from the scale is a good idea, and to spend some time focusing on what you said you KNOW, such as your clothes fit better etc. Just live with yourself while...love yourself. You are MORE than a number on a scale. And good job for quitting smoking, that is a hard thing to do. I know your body is thankful!
