Putting the brakes on before I coast my way off track....
Wednesday, May 12, 2010
Well, the week is turning out to be a little bit of a challenge -- I definitely eat differently when the boys are with me. Although I haven't been able to avoid eating bread (evil bread!), I have been able to stop myself from eating it until the loaf is all gone. Yay me. I do realize that I'm going to have to be a lot more careful about my food portions when my kids are here. I see that I tend to have extra helpings without thinking. I know that I'm not hungry, yet for some reason, I still eat it.
I am very successful in dropping the poundage on the weeks my kids are not with me, but as soon as they're with me, I eat more than I know I should. It's like I'm on a bungee cord.... I plummet down one week, and then bounce right back up the next. This isn't good. I can't do it any more -- two steps forward, one step back is just not working for me. I'll never reach my goal this way.
So, I am putting on the brakes and I'm going to stop this. I'm going to have to start asking myself "am I taking this extra portion of food because I'm hungry, or am I taking it out of habit?" (I always used to finish off the food on my kids' plates when they were little).
I did manage to get out for a walk at lunch time on Monday. Tuesday was just a little bit too busy at the office.
Here are some photos that I took along my way....
One of the paths I walk on:
Turtles again! (I had my better camera with me, so I got a better photo this time!):
Funky tree:
Lilacs:
No idea what kind of bird this is -- it was way off, I zoomed in as much as I could.:
These two ducks were swimming along. By the time I turned on my camera to take a picture, they mooned me!!
