Weekend is off to a good start....

Saturday, May 15, 2010

Went out dancing last night. Danced for nearly 2 hours. Felt great! Woke up early, went down to the farmer's market in town and picked up some tomato plants, some red bell pepper plants and some fresh herb plants for my vegetable garden. Decided that I'll convert an old plastic storage bin into a planter which I'll leave on top of some crates on the deck so the dog can't pee on the plants. LOL. Easier to keep the weeds out, too.

Walked around the market for an hour, it was cool in the shade, but the sunny areas were nice and warm. Nights are still cooler than usual. I'll have to bring my plants back indoors overnight, in case there's frost again.

Doing great with keeping on track. Managed to fight off the urge to eat everything in site last night, and stuck to a single serving of my dinner (I wasn't even hungry after the first serving, I just wanted to eat it because it was "there" for me to eat). I'm proud of myself for putting the brakes on!

Tomorrow I'll get to work on making my bins into planters. I'll need to go buy some soil to fill the bins. I'm excited! I haven't had a vegetable garden since 1990.

Posting some pictures that I took.

Those plants look beautiful. You guys have great weather for growing those tomatoes etc. Basil is sensitive...you have to find the exact spot for it (under the tomato plants might be good(??).
When I garden, time flies, I come into the house thirsty and NEVER, EVER hungry. Then the next day my body aches.
Have fun. MMMmm nothing like real home grown tomatoes (store bought tomatoes here are all imprted and are just missing the recycle symbol for plastics to show that they are tasting just what they are supposed to.
