Friday, May 21, 2010

Today's stats:

P Cloudy 67 degrees wind N 6 MPH
79% humidity
60 degrees dewpoint

Time 1:10:21 (3/1 intervals)
11:43 av pace
5.1 av MPH
592 cals burned
149 av bpm HR
168 max bpm HR

M1: 11:27 (146 bpm)
M2: 11:21 (14 bpm)
M3: 11:49 (145 bpm)
M4: 11:58 (150 bpm)
M5: 11:52 (150 bpm)
M6: 11:48 (151 bpm)

Wow, what a difference a day makes. I changed my intervals from 4/1 to 3/1 and as you can see in my HR I felt much better than Wednesday's run. It was very humid and the sweat was not evaporating much at all. I again had to stop by the house for a water refill. Still considering hauling a water buffalo during my runs LOL.

I also purposely watched my pacing and slowed down. That made a huge difference. Duh. That is it for this week and I ran for a total of 16.11 miles this week. My plan for next week is to run early Sunday morning as our temps are to climb to 90 on Sunday along with humidity. That is pegged to be about 7 -ish miles. Then I will run two more days for a total of about 17-18 miles. That'll work!

So until the next run...

Toodles!

I can tell you from my experience a few weeks ago during my half that the heat and humidity will really change things. I only intended that day to take in 3 gels and my fluids at a minimum as to avoid need a potty break. Well, near mile 12 I was into my 4th gel and drained all my bottles. The one saving grace was it started raining and cooled things off a bit.

We just have to roll with things and make adjustments while we learn about our bodies.

I'm sorry to see that your weather is starting to look like mine! But good job! You didn't have to slow down very much to get a nice consistent heart rate and pace.

Good Job? Do you use a garmin? I have one and my calories seem so off. Yours seem more accurate. Just curious.....
