the skinny on kumquats

As promised, I tried a kumquat once I got home yesterday.
It was ... interesting. The inside tasted very lemon-like, while the skin or peel was bitter and sweet at the same time. I tried a couple more after dinner and decided that I didn't enjoy just eating them like that.
But I'm not giving up on them. I love the lemony taste. I had also read that they made a great addition to tea or water when sliced. Mmmmm. That sounds perfect!! So my remaining kumquats will be "seasoning" for my calorie-free beverages!! And I'm certain that I will love it!
