My younger daughter graduates from the fifth grade tomorrow morning, so I took the day off work. This whole fifth grade graduation business seems a little unusual to me because we never graduated from anything until we graduated from high school! So it seems strange to have graduations from kindergarten, and fifth grade and so on. . . . But maybe it seems odd because it is also a reminder that my kids are growing up--fast! Seems like just yesterday we were attending her kindergarten graduation. And the day before that we were bringing three little toddlers home after consumating their adoption.
But of course we also have our son's crossover ceremony for Cub Scouts tonight too. He will be a senior Webelos Scout--and moving on to a Boy Scout troop in less than a year. And our older daughter moving right along in middle school. Yikes!
It's funny. I don't feel older, even though I am watching them grow. Maybe it's because I am healthier now than I was five years ago. I weigh less, although I am working on losing a little more. I eat better. I exercise (you have no idea how much of a change that is!). So even though I am getting older, I am not feeling it the same way I did a few years ago. And that feels fantastic!
Have an awesome day!! Thanks for reading!
