Summer camp

The kids started YMCA summer camp yesterday--and didn't even make it home before they started complaining that it is boring. Having never had the opportunity to participate in summer camp when I was a kid, I find myself wondering how they could possibly be bored. They have so many opportunities--swimming in a lake, canoeing, sports activities, crafts, a zip line. . .the list is endless. I was incredulous that they could be bored with camp after just one day.
But deep down inside I was also jealous. They get to spend the day outdoors doing fun activities and getting plenty of exercise. Ok, so I'm happy to have the benefit of air conditioning--it's hot in Texas! But the activities sound like so much fun. Me flying down the zip line might not be pretty to watch, but it sure would be a fun ride! Perhaps someday they will appreciate the opportunities they had to get out and be active. More importantly, I hope they continue these activities long into adulthood.
Have a great day, Spark Friends! And thanks for reading my blog!
