Has anyone ever tried an "Extreme" or "Off-Road" 5k (for lack of a better term)? I signed up for one in September -

and am trying to see about going camping in the area of one in August -

A good "practice" event would be:
http://www.warriordash.com/ (3 miles vs 5 or 6). However, I am already committed to the Relay for Life that weekend. The Warrior Dash has events nation-wide.
An Army friend suggested the X-Dog events to me, (he is one of the those crazy P90X-ers!), but also a big supporter of my healthy lifestyle journey! It meant a lot that he thought I could do these events!
I watched the videos and you don't have to be an extreme athlete or have any experience. I saw some "fluffy" athletes in the videos (as well as some old, naked ones! eeek!)
You certainly can't be afraid to get dirty or possibly hurt (looks like scrapes and bruises will be par for the course!) And who wouldn't love a big ol' party afterward?!
I love that these "Off-Road Events" offer a different challenge - like the terrain, as well as natural and man-made "obstacles."
Do YOU have the Warrior Spirit within you?!
