Just SAY NO!

Beck card for the day:

say no to extra food

"Get rid of extra food. It'll be wasted in the trash can or in my body. Either way, it's wasted."

Well, I'm sure I'm not the only baby boomer who was told to clean my plate because there were "starving children in China". So this one is a toughie!

I have trouble throwing out food.
I have trouble leaving food on my plate.

The card is soooo true. If my body doesn't need the food, then it IS wasted when I eat it. And who, other than myself, designated me as the human garbage can?

I will consciously work to leave food on my plate.
I will consciously work to freeze or throw out leftovers.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm missing Vandal! So in his absence AND his honor, I'm going to take over his customary exit emoticon.

Our mothers must have been sisters. We also grew up with the China story.

Thank goodness for freezers. Mine is divided in to the leftover section and the new section. I try to do leftover first.

    Have a great day!

Oh this brings back memories of being told to eat everything on my plate......and I hated veggies..... so I had to sit there until I finished...... Now look how things have changed..... I some times find myself trying to finish my plate when I'm full...... then remember I don't have to do that anymore....... it's a hard habit to break... even harder to throw food out..

oh, boy do I remember that one....and I never could figure out how my eating everything on my plate was going to help those poor kids in China.......

I too for so long have been a clean plate kid..even now, it is difficult for me to leave some.....but I have been doing better about this....and with much shock and amazement from my family, believe me..... emoticon

I really like your Beck cards.....they really set the tone for the day.. emoticon
