After putting 383 miles on my bike I had my first wreck! Chris and I had quite the adventure today. We went for an 80 mile bike ride and about 35 miles in, I crashed going up a hill. Chris teased me and said I have now been initiated and am an official roadie! Woo Hoo!!! Chris had 2 flat tires back to back after my wreck at about 37 miles in. The rest of the ride went beautifully. Yay!!!
My left leg is pretty tore up. Thought I'd share a picture of the back of my leg.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

How in the world did you keep going with that kind of injury?
I think you must be tough as nails. But congratualtions on being an official roadie. I don't think I would care to have a crash in order to gain that title. I hate pain!

It is definately NOT fun falling off the bike!! Last time I was out with the kids, the boys stopped to check something out, I hollered at my neice who was ahead to stop, she stops short Auntie ends up in some slimy ditch water!! Funny now, not so funny then!! Be careful and keep up the good work!

Hey Roadie - Congrats on our first wreck! Now you don't have to be afraid of it happening. It's cool you were able to finish the ride in spite of your crash, road rash, and your husband's 2 flats! Diehard roadies - both of you!

Yikes! :S That's definitely not the kind of initiation I'd like when cycling. :S & I thought bonking was bad enough. Still, I'm sure it's not going to keep you from riding. Way to go on getting through it, & keep on enjoying this amazing sport. :)

Ahh, but the stories we get to tell :-).

I'm glad it wasn't a serious crash, bruises and scraps we call all recover from.

    80 miles! What an inspiration!

I'm sorry that you two both had incidents! Whenever I get hurt I have to ask myself why. I always get an answer that surprises me. It always centers around me not listening to myself.

Here's to your speedy recovery and maybe some inner listening.
