HCG, why is everyone taking this?

Friday, June 25, 2010

Most blogs are just ads to sell HCG. I know many success stories where I work, but I do not trust anything where you lose 20 pounds a month. I am thinking when i stick to my tracking I lose 5 pounds a month but I bet the chances of me sticking with my lifestyle is better doing it the slow but sure method. Does anyone have any information about this fad?

hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is the hormone produced by the placenta and therefore associated with pregnancy--why on earth would anyone try to use this as a weight loss method??? I know that not everyone can be successful on their own with portion control, calorie counting, etc. just as some addicts cannot quit their addiction without medical intervention. Still, this hardly seems like a safe or rational way to lose weight and clearly it's not endorsed by the medical community--since it's illegal in the US. The diet plan is associated with SEVERE calorie restrictions as well, which can lead to malnutrition, arrhythmias, disordered electrolyte balance and more. WHY???
As an aside, I've always wondered whether men taking hCG for weight loss would test positive on a pregnancy test... but have never tested one...

You are right....I was watching a vlog and the woman who was posting the vlog lost lots of weight but she continually has to do those hormones again and again. She did this often over the time period of 2 years......and then in one of her vlogs she was asking if anyone knew why she has having rapid heart beats......i am going to forget it...slow but healthy. I did read that after you finish you gain weight fast again since you are not used to eating normal. Lets forget it! emoticon

No but I think that we all should stay away from those things. It is like all those products that they try to sell us for weight loss. But that is too much weight to lose in a months time and everything type of program that says that, if you look later down the road you will find that the persons gain the weight back and then some. So I would just stick to what we are doing here. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
