I did a PowerPump class yesterday and sweat like a pig. The class was 1.5 hours long and I picked up my stuff and left after about 75 minutes. I'm QUITE disappointed that none of that counted as vigorous activity! I'm one of the oldest in the class and one of the heaviest, so it seemed pretty dang vigorous to me! Apparently I've got to work harder to step it up. Later in the day I checked the display and noted I would not meet my step count so I did 2.25 miles on the treadmill.

Another interesting thing is that I was in bed for 7 hours, 45 minutes and I only slept 4.5 hours? That's not very good considering all the research done on adequate sleep being important for weight loss. I had a diet coke in the evening so that may be the culprit. I'll stop doing that to see if I don't sleep better.

On the whole I am pleased with the second day results. I understand that I can't keep up this activity pace in July when we are on vacation, or in August once school is back in session, but for now it IS possible and I'm hoping it gets me back into a weight-loss mode.

My mood is positive and upbeat.

    Wow lots of info.

    I have always wondered how the instructors would do if they had 10 5lb. bags of sugar duct taped to their body while going through the routine.
    That vision helps me get through workouts when it gets tough for me.

    It sounds like you are doing a great job, who cares what the experts think. Sometimes we just have to use our own judgement.

    I"m not sure about the doesn't count as vigorous activity? My knee jerks is that your body knows you're doing the strenuous work whether a counting systems logs it or not and by the sweat response it was logging something... 75 minutes is super by my book. The sleep aspect is very interesting. This gadget seems to be helping you track MANY things, remember to give yourself credit for ALL of them!

    Keep going you are doing amazing.

    Dont worry about what you may not be able to do in a months time, you might find other ways to get steps in during that time you are on vacation that are much more fun then a tredmill.
