June 30th, 2010 Update

Around 217.5 now, finally over the 220 hump...tried a few eating plans and am finding that it is exercise that works for me. Something around an hour or 1/2 hour if it's hard... as long as I do it, the numbers go down and if I don't it stays or creeps up.

I wish I liked exercise more. Sad, because there are exercises that I do love such as swimming and tennis. And the rest that I like, biking, walking, one of the wii dance games, wii in general, pole dance (i have one in the house), hiking.

I'm not sure why it doesn't happen more. I hate sweating. Exercise also feels unnatural to me, like I'm doing something ridiculous...let me think of an example, ok, like washing dishes by hand when you have a dishwasher. I've just had a modern life of driving my car to the store, pushing a cart, laundry machines, store bought food....I mean, there just isn't any modern 'need' to move.

We are so going to become the fat short armed and legged people from the movie Wally.

I will say, that I have been more active living here in Chicago than when I lived in West Virginia. We do walk more here to get places like the movie theater. Sometimes, I wish I could have my dog here or a kid to chase after, a real purpose for moving.

Kind of ironic, thanks to all of our time and labor saving inventions, we now have to set aside 30-60mins daily to purposely move (most likely on another invention like a treadmill) so we don't become blubbers. Sighs.
