Calories and Eating Out and Perkins
Saturday, July 03, 2010
My husband suggested Perkins for eating out tonight. We go out about once a week and that is where we chose. I went to their website after we got back home and nearly fainted when I saw how many calories was in my hamburger. Yes, I know a cheese bacon burger (900 calories) is high calorie, but I did not think it was that high. I also did not think it would be that big. And no, I did not quite eat it all. My son ordered the Tangler burger (1,000 calories), a hamburger with cheese, bacon and onion ring things on it. He wanted fries with it and I said no. He got the fruit cup. I got the side salad. My husband ordered the spinach chicken salad. (800 calories without the bread thing on the side.)
After I looked at what we each ate and fainted, then I looked at some other items. I would have been better off with the steak meal like I used to get, before I was counting calories. I was just in a mood for a burger. Should have ordered the normal burger which I don't remember even seeing on the menu. Even the kids meal burger is 600 calories with no fries. The ham and cheese egg omelet with hash browns said 1,000 calories, if I remember right. How does someone trying to watch their calories go to Perkins? Can you find anything that you would enjoy that would be 400 to 600 calories with some kind of side?
Oh, and yes, I emailed them and thanked them for having the nutrition information available and asked if they have anything for someone wanting a 600 calorie dinner or can an adult order from the kids menu or the senior menu?
