july 4th, already!?

Sunday, July 04, 2010

6 months from today and i turn 27. and i'm feelin pretty freakin good! i don't think i've ever had this much muscle on my frame, in my life, and i'm lovin it... honestly, bodybuilding is so addictive. i love how it makes me feel. i love the pump i get. i love feeling stronger and leaner every day, and seeing new definition every week... i'm tellin you, if you're reading this, and you're going crazy wanting to see results.. wanting to get fit.. pick up the weights!!! i wouldn't be where i am right now if it hadn't been for my love of strength training. back in february, i was frustrated with my body and thinking about this summer, and i became a "cardio queen"... i was putting all my energy into crazy cardio workouts.. and sure, i lost a couple pounds initially.. but i didn't see definition. when i started dedicating myself to lifting, i saw results. i know that not everyone's body is the same, but i can tell you that lifting has helped me cut inches off my frame. a couple months ago i blogged about how frustrated i was that i had gained back some of the weight that i had lost. i had talked about how it took me from feb.2008 til aug.2008 to go from 152 to 140. i talked about how from aug.2008 (when i met my goal of 140) until feb 2010.. that i went back up to 152. i made a comment about how it took me 6 months to lose 12 pounds last time and how impatient i am. well, on feb 17th, i started getting serious about lifting, and i got down to 140.5 by june! so i shaved 2 months off how long it took me last time to lose the same amount of weight.. crazy. so now i have a new goal.. 135. i don't want to be "skinny".. that's not my goal. my goal is to get as tight, healthy, and strong as i can. i'm excited to see what i'll look like at 135 because i've never seen that weight in my adult years. i know i'll make it happen. i'm staying focused and lifting hard.. making good food choices (for the most part haha) and enjoying the benefits of my hard work. enjoying the summer so far.. been hitting the beach every chance i get.. and hanging with friends/family. i'm reapplying for that position at my work (that i didn't get last time) because there was an opening posted on the job board again recently. (someone in that dept. got a promotion, that's why there's an opening.) and so yea, just feelin pretty good.. stayin positive and puttin in work! hope all of you are having a fun and safe 4th of july!

much love,
wendi
