#373: Beauty Around Us -- An Accident?

Monday, July 12, 2010

If you have ever doubted the beauty of nature that surrounds us daily, please visit SISTERDEAR's blog titled, "Wonderous Sunset - O The Glory!" at:

and YW84FRIDAY's titled, "Short Walk" at:

After admiring the beauty they shared with us today, ask yourself if such magnificence is merely the result of an accident of nature. Or perhaps the result of the artistry painted by the Master Painter himself?

I personally have a difficult time believing such majesty as nature provides is anything less than a true gift from God. You may agree, or not, that is your choice. But when we look at the miracles that surround us how can we explain them away by claiming they just happened?

Their pictures stirred something in me tonight. Wanderlust perhaps, wishing to be able to see the same sights they did. Maybe, too, a bit of envy that they can admire these glorious aspects of nature whenever they wish.

But then I walked my dogs to the back yard and noticed the mature orange trees and grapefruit trees in the yard that produce such sweet, juicy fruit in season that many neighbors stop by for a bag full. Before I went back inside I watered the beautiful orange/red colored flowers in the front yard and realized that we all are surrounded by natural beauty of plants and animals, waterfalls, mountains, lakes and oceans.

All we need to do is to take the time to notice and to admire the things that tug at our hearts. It is everywhere and is, I believe, a gift to us from above.

Lou, THANK you for yet another inspiring blog! I needed this blog SO MUCH! It has been a tough week (vacation rebound) and after a very nice day, this was the icing on the cake!

The photos and your blog reminded me of an old song I used to know as a youth...

“Master Designer,” a song by Kurt Kaiser

Cotton candy clouds, so fluffy and white,
Who put you there in a sky of deep blue?
Or do you just happen to float along,
Pretty and white in a sky so blue, so blue, sky so blue?

Tall mountain, deep valley, fast river, cool stream,
Show grandeur and majesty in some grand scheme
All of these wonders that we behold,
Are only a part – it cannot be told, be told, cannot be told.

    Master Designer, Whoever You are,
All of this beauty both near and afar
Can’t just have happened, the odds are too great,
There must be a plan, we’re not left to fate, to fate, not left to fate.

All of this beauty is far too convincing
Master Designer, Your word must be true,
Of all Your creations man is the dearest
Help me to simply believe now in You, in you,
    Believe in You.”

We here in the flatlands do get in awe of the mountains' majesty, don't we?! We have our own beauty, though. For me, I think finding that kind of beauty within the hearts of those I encounter is the trick. I truly believe God built that kind of beauty around us and within us. We just gotta seek it out. Thank you for sharing these. I had seen SisterDear's but not the other one. You've added beauty to my life tonight!!

Wow, Lou, the beauty God displays all around us is so incredible, if we will but take a moment to notice. And no two places, no two days exibit the same display. I'm glad you noticed the beauty that He gifted you with today, too. Thanks for sharing how God touched your heart and day with us!

I am fortunate enough to live just a few blocks from a lake in my town. Every morning at sunrise, I walk my dog by the lake and take in the most magnificent view, and give thanks to God for allowing me the privilege of seeing the daily miracle of His handiwork. I truly believe it is a gift.. Then I kick myself for not having a camera.. lol..
