Ya, I can run faster but I choose to ~TRAIN TO RACE NOT RACE TO TRAIN~

2) 12:45 (145)
3) 10:28 (150)
4) 10:52 (162)
5) 10:43 (160)
6) 12:18 (158)

Shoe mileage: 287 miles

Simply put, tonight was a Tempo run and Kelley had us take it to 3 miles as opposed to 4 so I made up the difference with some easy miles. As you can see my actual AP was about a minute faster than the plan and Kelley decided its time next week for a 1 mile time trial to see where we are in our training. So I have a feeling our times will be adjusted accordingly. Its suppose to really heat up here next week so she thinks she will keep our track work not much more than the warmup, time trial and then of sourse cool down.

That is about all for this exciting installment as I am tired and not very talkative. I have an easy recovery run tomorrow followed by a 9 mile long run Sunday to make a 20 mile week. Woot!

Until then...

Toodles

Looking good! I predict you'll be smokin' in your time trial (and not just from the heat)!

Grabbed this from your 5K back in March:

165 av bpm HR 177 max bpm HR
    M1: 10:55 M2: 10:59 M3: 11:09 M4: 10:43

So you just ran a tempo run faster than that race, in god only knows how much hotter conditions, while staying 10 beats lower on HR, without intervals. That's pretty hawt.

Great job!! I just started running January and did my first 5K in April. I've done a few more since then, and want to try for a 10K in the fall. I'd LOVE to do a half marathon, so I find your blog very inspiring.

    Keep up the great work!!
