Half Marathon Training Week Seven (7/20/2010) 4 mile Easy Run

Ya, I can run faster but I choose to ~TRAIN TO RACE NOT RACE TO TRAIN~

This was an easy peasey 4 mile run but I had such a wonky time keeping a consistent pace but you'll have that. I feel great as I am going to get over this fluffy funk because I started ST again and when I do that, I feel the most fit. I took measurements last night and lets say I have a ways to go. The important thing though is that since I hit rock bottom mentally, I have nowhere to go but up!! It helps to put it out there publically by writing it here in order to keep myself accountable.

I am changing the schedule up a little for Thursday so I will not be going to group speedwork. This means that I will do my Tempo run Thursday morning at home in our neighborhood as opposed to at the track. My time trial will be done next week. The reason being is the Bix expo starts Thursday evening and I want to get to the expo early on. Running Wild (our local running shoe store) is having 20% discount on shoes. As you can see with my shoe mileage, its getting time to start thinking new shoes for mama. I want to take my current pair so they can look at my wear pattern on the soles because ultimately I want to see if I "qualify" for a neutral plus shoe with lots and lots of cushion. Woot!

    Yay! Great job on the run today! Glad that you're feeling energized from the renewed ST effort. I have been trying to focus more on ST lately too and it really, really helps. Now I just have to tackle my eating habits but one thing at a time ;)

    I'm thinking about you lots as the Bix 7 approaches. I know you are nervous but I'm sure you're going to have a great experience! Imagine how great it will be to say you conquered the "Evil Triple H"...heat, hills, AND humidity!!
