My Woo Hoo Moment: I Wore My Swimsuit Out in Public!

Monday, August 02, 2010

Before a recent family trip to Cedar Point, I decided to give myself a "pep talk" about what a great job I have been doing on my journey to becoming a healthier me. I told myself that I deserve to go on vacation with my husband and daughters and have a blast! That I do not need to worry myself with how I look or with what others think of me. I went online to find the most awesome Plus-size swimsuit in the history of Plus-sized swimsuits. It cost a little more than I had budgeted, but was soooo way worth every penny. It was comfortable, it held me in in all the right places, it covered up the bulges and rolls, it had an adorable little skirt that covered just enough (not too short - not too long)! This swimsuit was "magical" ... it made me feel pretty.

So, here I was, at Soak City in my new swimsuit having an AWESOME time with my daughters. I can't remember the last time that we laughed so much and had so much fun! Oh, yes, and let me tell you that in this 'magical" swimsuit, I was able to strut around with my 196.5 body and not give a second thought to what anyone around me was thinking. My oldest daughter even pointed out that, "Ewww, gross ... that guy was totally flirting with you, Mom!" I didn't notice. The only thing on my mind was how absolutely, utterly FABULOUS it was to 'let go' and have fun.

My wish for all of you, my Spark friends, is that you too will be able to find an inner peace - a happiness from within - that will allow you to enjoy life now ... on your journey to becoming a healthier you! emoticon

Daneen, how cool is that?! You should remember that moment at different times of the day. See if it helps you walk a little straighter, with that secret smile on your face. ;)

Wow...I could not even wear a real swimsuit when I only weighed 116. I was too critical of every little imperfection. I am very happy for you. I hope that I can gain that same outlook.
Good for you, I hope you took lots of pictures.
