Motivation from a random *hot* guy :)

Saturday, August 07, 2010

Well, I'm falling back into a great exercise groove now that baseball is finally over. I have been back to some of my favorite classes at the gym and was able to keep up my usual stamina and *feeling great* after each class.

One area that is harder for me to "jump back in" is the running. I was on such a good schedule and really building with each week. And so, I've been trying to run a little each day to try and get back where I was. I am signed up for a half marathon in October and am not convinced that I will be able to complete it (runnning).

So, it was a beautiful cool morning here and decided I'm going to get three miles in today. I started out pretty strong and was feeling good. About a mile in my ankles start hurting?? This is a new one for me. I've had problems with getting my breathing under control before but never really had pain. I'm trying to push through but end up having to walk up the one nice hill of the run. I was feeling like a failure but shook it off and started back to running at the top of the hill. I made it to about the 2.8 mile point and started with the weird ankle pain again and was slowing up when some very sweet guy came out of his house and started cheering me on. He cheered ...come on..don't stop now...looking good:) Well, it perked me right up and off I went and finished my run strong! Now, I was thinking he may have been goofing on a RWC girl(kristina trademark:) but at that point whether his intentions were pure or not it motivated me...so thanks random hot guy!

And thanks to all my sparkies that always continue to motivate and inspire me!

Still not sure what's up with ankle pain but I am in need of new running shoes...so maybe that's it???

Wow! I admire your courage! If a random hot guy was cheering me on I think I would be so embarressed I would disappear underground, after I had checked to see who he was really cheering on.

Maybe it was just your mind giving in to your pain. Maybe not. In any case you finished and that is what counts thanks to the random hot guy. Good job. maybe I will get the courage to run outside again sometime soon.

Awww it's just moments like that , that makes all the difference in the world. You know, the type of support that is unexpected! emoticon
Moments that make you question your own strength & then you finally decide to push throughout the pain! Way to hang in there Karen!!!! emoticon

He was definitely cheering for you! Because while you may be RWC, you are definitely pretty hot yourself!

How old are your shoes? If they're older than 6 months, it might be time for a change. Or it might just be that you need to ease yourself back into running.

LMBO! That is so funny! Perhaps that random hot guy is a sparker himself. Perhaps he too has struggled to get to his 'hot' status. Motivation can come from anywhere so glad you saw that and ran with it! emoticon

Way to go! Random hot guys are a good thing. There are quite a few at my gym and that motivates me to lift weights well. Random motivation never hurts!

    Keep up the good work!

How great are random hot guys? Now that I am in my fifties - there are far fewer RHGuys who would talk to me but I still remember the fun of being noticed - ah the good old days.

But I digress while I reminisce. First - good for you getting back to your running. It is a beautiful morning down here in Bethany Beach, Delaware, - first cool crisp day we have had in a long time. So I am sure that it was a great day to get back to the pavement. Second - you are gorgeous - of course RHGuy is going to notice. And he probably is a nice RHGuy who wanted to be encouraging so he yelled out which gave him a chance to talk to you.

Isn't motivation great! It could be the smallest of things. Someone noticing weight loss, someone commenting on your endurance, form, strength, new hair cut, cute top - all of these things boost our confidence and motivation to keep going. Yours just happen to come in a cute package.

Hope your ankle is ok - do your shoes give you enough stability and support. You should check it out before you injure yourself.

You know what? He is probably a runner, too and knows what a little encouragement can do. Nice work!
