#392: Unexpected Blessings
Wednesday, August 11, 2010
Sometimes we receive blessings from unexpected sources. I have received three this week. I won't go into personal details but will say that without the help offered me, I would have likely fallen into a pit of depression feeling I had no where else to turn to get me out of several difficulties.
What is most inspiring is that all of the help has come from either strangers or a casual friend whose help I never would have expected. That they would reach out to me brings tears to my eyes.
Most of us try to lead lives where we respect and encourage others and try to keep an upbeat attitude, looking for the positives in all situations. I know the importance of lifting up others with deeds and words and many of you have shared with me your kind comments on my efforts here on SP for which I am appreciative.
Until this week, though, life this year has been a downward spiral that has slowly drained me of energy and hope. But that has been restored, even if nothing else good happens, for now, being on the receiving end of other's goodness, lets me know that there is hope and that if we keep believing there is a grand plan for our lives that the proper people to help us will be brought to us.
Never underestimate how much your efforts to help someone will benefit them. You may not think what help you offer is of great importance but trust that the ripple you begin will expand and expand and have positive consequences far beyond what you do or say. And the person you reach out to will be forever grateful. I am.
