Thursday Day in Review

Thursday, August 19, 2010

Well I guess it's actually a two day review so my title is misleading...maybe I could change it???...nah, that would mean I would have to think of some witty title...I don't have it in me tonight...I need sleep... emoticon

OK...so last night after the boy came in from soccer we did our ever bonding Big Brother time together where I get on the treadmill and he cheers me on...it's great fun for me...the jury is still out on his funometer here!

I never start out with much of a workout plan in mind, I sorta wing it...but not for long as I plan on creating an actual routine to follow on my off running days.

I spent about 42 minutes doing a preset weight loss routine then I followed it up with planks...lots of them...crunches with the medicine ball...200 OF THEM!!!!! WOOHOOO.....do I feel it today man!!!! and 60 push ups....I was pumped!

I was supposed to get up and run this morning but forgot I had made plans to meet a friend at 7:45 am to get back to school supplies. She's a teacher and it was Teacher Appreciation day so there were bonuses involved for going today. I ended up buying myself a wireless printer for a great deal. I am VERY excited about my new toy!!!

Needless to say, the morning walk was put off...tonight was another Big Brother night so I worked out the whole time...in fact longer than that. I did 2 back to back weight loss presets and burnt well over 500 cals, which is great because I had 2 meals that MAY have taken me over my daily intake...a friend of mine had a farewll luncheon as she is going on mat leave, so I ate well but it was more calories that I tend to eat for lunch. Supper was worse I think...I have to go take time to count those calories up...I think they are high though...

All this to say, my goal was to burn a min of 500 calories tonight so I wasn't over eating today.

I also did my standard push ups and crunches and planks. Treadmill time was 65min, 544 calories, 6.31kms, on a mostly 5 and 6% incline. I kept a great pace too...never had issues keeping conversations going either...I am going to have to up the intensity next time! YAY ME!
I sweat like a pig in a sauna!!!! It was AWESOME!!!!

The one thing I can't stand about working out at night is the fact that I end up full of energy and can't get to sleep for hours, even though BEFORE I started the workout I was ready to crawl in my bed a sleep for a week...
The other thing that I don't like about night time workouts is not being able to eat afterwards. I never eat after 8, and yet most of my workouts are after 9 and I know I should have a few carbs AFTER my workout...but then it's after 8...viscious cycle I tell ya!

If only there was some way I could LIKE getting up early and working out, the kick start it would give my morning...WOW...it would be awesome...mental note...MUST WORK ON LIKING MORNINGS MORE!

Tomorrow is Week 7 of my C25K...maybe I will try it in the morning and see how that goes...

I'll keep you posted!

Night Sparkers...

I hear ya on working out at night. No way could I do my runs at night especially. I feel like a rock star after running and it would take me ages to wind down from that!

Keep up the awesome work, Annie!
