Closer Still

Saturday, August 21, 2010

Just like Dory in "Finding Nemo", I "just keep swimming, swimming, swimming..." In my case I just keep plugging along with my healthy eating and exercise habits. I don't always get in all the exercise I want, but I must admit, I am quite disciplined about what I eat now. Because of that, I can feel free to "relax the rules" now and than. Today was a perfect example...our church Anniversary Picnic. I skipped the hot dogs and hamburgers and only had chicken, but I did have a piece of cake.

There were some folks there today that I hadn't seen in a while. They were impressed to say the least. What was the funniest thing was that how I feel really means more to me than their compliments. I am the one who carries this body around...and the extra weight. I am the one who has so much more energy now that I'm carrying around 70 less pounds than I used to. I feel soooo much better!!! I really never thought I'd feel this good. I'm hooked!!

So...as of today, I have just under 7 pounds to go to reach my half way point. Getting closer. Just like Dory, I'm going to "just keep swimming, swimming, swimming..." I'll be there soon!!

I'm going the same way as GETFIT2LIVE, how YOU feel is the important part of this.

I'm so happy for you that you were able to enjoy the picnic and allowed yourself to have cake without feeling guilty. The healthy eating thing is just that, you make good food choices most of the time and you can permit yourself a treat once in a while.

And 7 lbs from half point is awsome! You are going strong and are an inspiration to us all.

Hurray! That's so great--to realize how you FEEL is more important than all the compliments in the world. And 7 pounds from your halfway point is wonderful! Keep on swimming, swimming, swimming; you're going to make it all the way, no doubt about that!
