I have been naughty and have not been updating my blog
but I am going to make a goal to try to blog at least 3 times per week, because maybe just maybe something that I have to say might help somebody else.
I made a goal way back in the beginning of June to work out 3 times per week. I got a buddy and we started to walk and sometimes run at intervals.
I was so so out of shape!! just walking for five minutes had me sweating and breathing hard, but it helped having someone to talk to while I walked.
The first couple of weeks we walked 30 minutes three times per week and sometimes jogged very short distances, because I ran out of breath fast!!
Around the third week, I started exercising every day and started to feel more energetic. I would walk and run and try different paths with my friend and rest on Sundays. Pretty soon resting to me meant only walking a mile or two. Lately, I feel guilty and grumpy and lack energy if I miss one day.
WOW!! What a difference a few weeks has made
A week ago, I decided to ride my bike. It made me feel like that skinny tom-boy that I used to be, the one who rode her bike everywhere and had endless energy!! I remembered that I LOVE to ride my bike. I'm not so crazy about the uphill, but the feel of the wind as I speed downhill is awesome!!!!
How did I forget that feeling??
Somewhere in the everyday struggles of life, I lost a part of myself, but she is back and getting strong again!!! Sparkpeople, what did you like to do when you were a kid? Maybe that kid is still there?
Today I walked one mile and rode my bike five miles so far and the day is early yet!!
If I can do it----anyone can do it!!!
I didn't do well eating right until two weeks ago I decided to go low carb and that is working well for me so far.
My workout buddy stopped working out two weeks ago. She says she hurt her ankle..........I am not sure if she hurt her ankle or decided she didn't want to continue. I thought it would be difficult for me to continue on my own, but I WAS WRONG. I already had the habit and I continue to step it up every day.
I miss my buddy, but I CAN do this on my own. WOW.
Well I am not completely alone because even though I don't blog everyday, when I do come back to sparkpeople, I find my friends still there and plenty of motivational pages to look at and so my new goal is to be there for my spark friends and blog three times per week.
My advice is to set small goals and then make them bigger. Have fun!! Don't overdue it or you will want to quit. Try to get someone to exercise with you at least at first because it makes you accountable. Find the kid inside you!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!
