I am so enjoying my morning walk. It is a feast for the eyes and a renewing of the spirit for me.
Today as I walked I noticed the foliage was turning red and gold and mixing with still green leaves. I admired drooping willow trees and late blooming flowers and I looked with interest at the neighboring yards. I watched squirrels playing on a porch, one was hanging upside down from a bird feeder. Two smal l deer crossed my path today.
I said many hellos to people walking and jogging and riding bikes. I stopped to take in a clump of cedar and a fat yellow cat. I noticed two doves cooing at each other in front of a small white house.
I thought about what my 10 year old said as she handed me a piece of bark. "Mom, I know God made the trees."
"Why?" I asked.
She showed me the underside of the bark and said,"Just look at that pretty pattern. God must have designed that. Trees make me think of God."
Once again I was amazed at what I had birthed and I thought that only God could design something as precious as my beautiful daughter. I certainly didn't make her by myself. Why, I can barely draw stick figures.
I continued musing and walking and pretty soon I had gone about three miles. I found two wild baby kitten in the woods.
