Lists are my friend...

Over the last few months, I have really made a consious effort to get things done rather than have a mental list of things to do. Seeing how I so often felt like I was loosing my mind, a mental list is just that much more unrealistic!
Yesterday, I made a list of things to do after work. Many times in the past, I've made lists and know how much they can help me, but still, I make them far less often than I should. While I've put some consideration into the why not make more lists, I don't have a good answer for that yet. The best I can come up with is that I can get ambitious on my lists and end up disappointing myself. Insert repetition of failure here. Well, not yesterday. It was an ambitious yet acheivable list. I had even forgotten something and added it after checking off my first thing. I can proudly declare that yesterday I made myself proud, starting by leaving work on time and not offering myself up to stay late for customers or co-workers. Ha! I put myself first!!!
Things I accomplished yesterday:
Went to bank
Returned sewing machine to Walmart (that's a fun return line)
Got free promotional car wash at Brown Bear
Went to gym (45 minutes elliptical & loss on scale!)
Went to Schucks & exchanged USED spark plugs they sold me (GRRR)
Went grocery shopping
Home by 9:45pm
Made super yummy dinner
In bed at 10:40pm
With every task I completed, I savored in checking it off my list. None of these tasks were massive, but collectively, it set a very positive tone to my day. I went home in such a great mood and it is carrying through to today. Not just a good mood, but a great mood!
Today will be my "easy" day though. No gym until tomorrow and just a few chores at home. Hmmm... Guess I should make a list.
(Also, including a picture of the car I'm polishing up for sale in a week or two!)
