Of all the silly things!

I am getting ready to run a local 5K I have run the last few years on Memorial Day. A friend was wishing me luck, and I got to thinking about it.

I really hadn't planned to run this race, because I don't have much to prove anymore, but I have been trying some new things in my training and thought I would see if they have been paying off. So I looked at last year's results, to see what the competition had been like, what my time was, and what the time was to beat.

I am the one to beat!
I totally forgot that I had won my age group last year. Hmmm.
Okay, so I have been really busy this year, living this great new fantastic sparkin' life! And come monday, I really am competing with myself! Cool beans!

Have a fantastic, safe, happy, holiday weekend all! ;)

    Hey all!
    Thought I checked back in...

I beat myself by nearly a minute! Finished in 24:29, 1F 45-49, 121/622 so in the top 20%.... Pretty happy with that! Still improving!

The winner in the 40-44 group was 44, and finished a full 4 minutes faster than me, so she has gotta slow down and/or I have got to speed up in order for me to beat her when she joins my class next year! ;)

Go girl! I am running one tomorrow too- but don't have such lofty aspirations- give me a couple years and I'll see if I can catch up to your success!! emoticon
