I am going to be walking in my local CROP Walk on Saturday, October 16th and I want to do something a little different. The course is around a section of a river. It is a 1.7 mile course. I will have around 2 to 2.5 hours that morning and I would like to see how many times I can walk around it. In 2008, I did 6.8 miles. So in an effort to do this, I am one day a week walking for 2 hours on my treadmill on a low incline. Today I walked 7.258 miles in 2 hours. I know outside may be harder, so I may not make over the 6.8 from 2 years ago, but would like to try. As many of you may know, I broke my toe end of May and that has kept me walking more on the treadmill where I control the incline and less outside. So I have not walked a 10k outside this year. I need to do that soon, before CROP walk, if I get time before late evening. Someday, it might be interesting (I imagine not fun!) to walk a half marathon. What if it takes me forever? Let's see, 13 miles, I think is a half marathon... 4 hours? Would they allow that long for a charity "race?"
