exercise rhythms?

Wondering if anyone out there has any thoughts on this...

Myself and my exercise buddy are working really hard at exercising 6 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day. But we don't always manage it in the AM (like we want). Sometimes we decide we're going to do it at night, sometimes we get it done in the morning.

Do we think this affects the effectiveness of exercise? Or our general health? I hear a lot of talk about doing it the same time every day (just like birth control, oddly enough), but does that have any definitive benefits?

If anyone has any thoughts, please share? I'm really interested in other people's experiences with this...
