Don't wait for New Year's to make that resolution

It's October? Where did this year go? It is officially the last quarter of the year. Where are you on those resolutions you made back in January? Do you even remember what they were?

As we all know, these last few months of the year are filled with road blocks to hitting our goals. Football Tailgates. Halloween candy. Thanksgiving. And don't forget Christmas and New Year's- and the 100 parties you get invited to within one month. It is easy to look at this last quarter and say "I am just going to try survive the next few months and then I will start again strong in January".

Don't do this.

If you want change, change NOW. Don't wait until January. Think about how you are going to look in those family pictures. Wouldn't it feel awesome to fit into those jeans on Christmas?

Make short term goals to get you through this season. How are you going to fit your exercise in? Have a plan of attack going into parties so you don't over do it.

You can do it. Make that change now!

    I agree that taking the attitude to "start" in January is wrong. We will always have Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, parties, etc. etc. to deal with so deal with it NOW. Thanks for sharing and Spark on!

    Thanks Julie. You just reminded me that I told my husband we were going to schedule a visit to the gym this weekend! THANKS! It's funny, I was at the Y doing my C25K workout yesterday, when I looked around there was only about 5 other people on the cardio equipment, and I thought. How nice that it isn't the 1st of the year right now. Pretty cool to really be working hard and it NOT be the first of the year!

    You're doing great. I'm GOING to hit the 160's before this year ends! :) Got any goals you're working on?

    Good idea girl!!! That is what I intend to do... That is part of the reason I am participating in a Biggest Loser challenge till December! I want to stay motivated and keep losing through the holiday's this year instead of gaining weight back like I normally do!
