Summer is over and I feel like my body is trying to store fat for the winter! My body has a place where it is just comfortable being, but I'm not! I'm trying to remotivate myself after a summer of slacking to lose a few pounds and try to convince my body that there is a better place on the scale to be.
I'm still running every morning (five mornings that is) and just joined the St. George Runners Series that guarantees I will get into the 2011 St. George Marathon if I run two of the sponsored races before that, CAKE! I'm excited but nervous. I guess it comes down to my "rage against age" that is making me want to do a marathon. I never in a million years dreamed that I would ever even have the desire to run one, let alone actually do it. I'm so thankful for great friends at my side because without them this wouldn't be happening.
My problem lies with eating junk! I've really got to get a handle on that. I am seriously going to work on eating more fruits and veggies and drinking more water. I think just making those changes will help a ton.
I have to say I LOVE Sparkpeople and all the helpful tools they offer. Every visit fires me up. I just need to make sure I am visiting OFTEN.

I love the idea of 'rage against age' - sounds like you're doing all the right things on the fitness front. On the junk food side - wonder if visualisation would help - your body is a temple... emoticon If you are doing all this great exercise, your body needs high quality, high energy fuel rather than sump oil! You're worth it! emoticon emoticon emoticon

YOU CAN DO IT!!! Knowing that if I ran the St. George Marathon, anyone can do it. Get some good running songs on your ipod, get a watch or pedometer or anything that you can keep track of your time or mileage and research a good training schedule and you can do it. Good luck and keep us updated!!!
