All this 5K talk got to me today. It's been forever since I have even attempted to try to run. Today I decided to give it a try. It really wasn't so bad, wore me out, made my heart feel like it was pounding out of my chest and made me sweat like crazy... and I wasn't even running.. For 30 minutes I switched up power walking and jogging in place. I walked to the count of 100, which was really a fifty count then jogged in place to the count of 100, which was really a fifty count. It wasn't so bad, was a nice change for me and I think after a few days of this I will jog more and walk less. When I was much younger, much thinner and much healthier I used to go to a local park. There were poles around the park the same distance apart all the way around. I would go to the park and walk the distance between two poles then jog it. After a while I walked two then jogged 3 until I was able to make it all the way around the park.. And when I made it all the way around, I quit! :) I was young, okay, I had better things to do.
For a few days now, I have been trying to think of ONE thing that I want to do more than anything in the whole world. Besides, losing weight to be healthy and to boost my self esteem, ONE thing I want to do is to go swimming. It has been forever since I have been in a pool. The biggest reason is because of my very LARGE SIZE. So, one goal I have is to lose enough weight to feel good about being in something I can swim in. :) When I was a kid I used to go swimming all the time, I was a darn good swimmer. I want to swim. Today I spent a little bit of time looking on line and in the phone book for places in my area I might be able to take some water aerobics or something but everything is way out of my budget, or the program is for seniors or for kids... Doesn't anyone have a water aerobics class for a 52 year old woman who wants to be healthy... ?
