I made it through the weekend!

Weekends are my downfall... I used to think that having a high calorie day was good - I would use it to keep me motivated during the week. The problem is, my weekend high day kept coming earlier and earlier. My high "day" would start Thursday afternoon and end Sunday evening. Since I started boot camp last week I decided I was NOT going to do this. I worked way to hard during the week to undo everything in a few short days.
Friday was a struggle. One of the salesmen bought the entire office pizza (and it was good pizza - not cheap crap). I was looking ahead and knew Saturday would be my bad food day, so I declined the pizza and ate my shrimp barley salad from home. The rest of the afternoon the mini candy bars next to the printer were calling me. I made it a point not to print anything and stayed strong. Friday night I came home and made homemade pizza. It was tasty and a nice reward for staying strong throughout the day. A beer would have been nice to go with the pizza... but that would have put me over calories so I drank water.
Saturday we had a football tailgate. Now for normal people, a tailgate and game would only occupy a few hours of their Saturday, but in my world, it is an all day ordeal. The past few weekends we have been out there from 11 in the morning until 12 at night. I normally eat very, very, VERY bad during tailgates - chips, dips, cookies, candy...not to mention the beer. It is all right there in front of me - it is all a weakness. So this weekend I decided to keep myself together and be strong. This is the only home game during the 4 week bootcamp, I can do one game. I am not going to tell you I was perfect - I did go over calories (but I also tracked them) and there were 2 beers and a shot involved. All together I was under 2000 calories. To me this was a success.
Sunday I had a nice day at home - I did some cleaning, laundry and bookwork that was hanging over my head. I ran on the treadmill while the girls were finishing up their cleaning and ran for 10 minutes straight - a new personal record! I think the key for me is to stop looking at the timer on the treadmill - I need to keep myself distracted. The rest of Sunday involved taking the girls out for ice cream and enjoying the beautiful fall day outside.
This morning I got up at 4:30 am for bootcamp - surprisingly it wasn't as hard to get up today as I expected. I had a great morning workout - I felt really strong and confident.
I am off to a great start this week!
