Problems are NOT Permanent!!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Hello Sparkies ~

I've got to get my act together!! I'm very lucky to have my Dad help me with money so I could seek out a trainer at the gym. I made it very clear with the owner that I needed someone who would listen to me when there is "pain" in my lower back and neck (both surgeries). I know the difference between soreness/painful.

I've been fortunate...I've found a trainer who questions frequently if there is any pain with whatever particular exercise he is asking me to do!

So, what is my problem? I'm honestly hesitant to take my booty to the gym after work. I know that 6:15pm is a very popular time for peeps to get their workout in....and I don't want to face all the others who have a great body.....so ridiculous!!

Well, I'm going to make a commitment to myself.....I am forcing myself to get up in the mornings and utilize this gym membership.....I have so much going for me and the fact that Dad is spending his money to help me....I need to take complete advantage of any opportunity. I realize it will be an early morning, along with a long day....but I think this is what I need to push myself, so I can gain some confidence and not be scared of any particular "time" at the gym!

I'm in control......and I'm making this commitment to myself!!

Smiles,
Carrie

Good for you!!! I am not going to activate my gym membership this winter since I am at my goal weight and plan to work out at home but if I start getting lazy and put on weight I will be joining the gym rats once again!! emoticon

Glad you have found a good trainer. Fabulous that your father is helping you in your quest for improved back and neck health in particular, and health in general, that's awesome.

Hope the getting up early doesn't cause you undue stress with those long days. Good for you in putting your health first. :)

Way to go with your new resolve and new goal! Exercise in the morning is a terrific thing-- it takes a lot of dedication and commitment to actually be successful with it (for me anyway). Most importantly, it takes ENOUGH SLEEP. I think that even harder than WAKING UP at 5:30 (which I try to do daily... emphasis on *try*) is actually getting to bed and to SLEEP by 10:00 or earlier, so I am rested enough in the morning.

Keep me posted on how your morning workouts go-- I would love any great tips if you have them! I don't do the gym in the morning (I work at 7:00, and my gym doesn't open til 6:00), so I go after work, but I still try to wake up for my yoga practice in the AM. It's a hit or miss most days.... Good luck!!!
