I feel so dumb!

Monday, October 25, 2010

I was trying to sell a Bridesmaids dress on Craigslist and I got an email the other day saying someone wanted to buy it for their friend who was getting married. I kind of believed them and gave them my address and cell number to send payment, but then they said they sent a $3000 check and they wanted me to send the excess to the bride via Western Union. I was like, HELLZ NO! I figured out then it was not real and someone was trying to scam me. I'm just really scared now that I gave them my name, address, and number that something bad might come of it. I feel so dumb for not looking into better to begin with. emoticon

You should be fine. A lot of people have your address and phone # and they can't do anything with it. As long as no bank account info was given, you shouldn't have any issues. Be glad you are smart enough to realize what was going on before you went further! Not everyone would have :)

Probably nothing will happen because they know you are on to them and they dont want to get caught. I tried to buy a car off craigslist and it was a scam they wanted me to pay to have the car shipped to my house and they would reimburse me.People are crazy.
