Long Haul

Thursday, November 18, 2010

It's easy to see how one can get derailed swiftly.

I struggle at best of times to stay on this journey of health, never mind when the chips are against me.

I came to work Monday morning ready to get back in the saddle and ride! I had lunch with ANNE7X7. I was VERY happy to see her. I was set to run that evening and BAM, didn't my daughter have a fever and start getting sick to her tummy.
There went THAT opportunity! She was sick again Tuesday and Wednesday and I suppose I could have run on Milly (my treadmill) during he day, however blondy wanted nothing more than to cuddle with Mommy in bed. So THAT is what I did. We cuddled and giggled and watched movies for two days while her fever worked it's magic on her.

So I am back at work today, Payton is back at school, still feeling under the weather but there nonetheless. I typically would have a PT session tonight so I will do a ST session on my own until she comes back to kick my ass! (Hopefully next week)

I know I mentioned last week I guess it was that I was going to run, but when I got out there, I wasn't able to, my vertigo was still quite bad so I turned around and called it a night.

I am still towing the line as far as my weight goes. No gain at all, even though my choices have not been the best. Speaking of eating....DAMN, I forgot to eat this morning! CRAP...THAT will have to stop...I DID however remember to bring my lunch so that's a good thing.

U shall have to get that BodyBugg back on and start logging those meals too...WOW, it's like starting all over! I don't like it!!!!! Oh well, that'll teach me for getting sick! LOL

I am sorry I missed the last two races, and for all my local Sparkers that ran the Cookie run, I wished I was there to run with you. Next year!

Thanks again for all your well wishes during this crapass time! I haven't read a blog in a while...so you'll all have to forgive me, cuz I may just start from now....and not where I left off, otherwise I could be reading til Christmas....and well, THAT won't work for me!

So, for all you Sparkers having a difficult time getting back on the horse, I feel your pain and suffering...it's not easy when you stop...but that being said, once you start, it's not easy to stop either...so THAT is the trick...don't stop...then it won't be a problem!!

Later Sparkers,

RUN RUN RUN!!

PS:
I MAY even Vlog my weekly update this weekend...stay tuned!

With you mental and physical strength I have no doubt you'll get yourself back up to where you were in no time. The fact that your are back at it proves that you are committed to this and that bumps in the road (as dizzy as they make you feel), won't stop you!

Glad you are getting back to your normal self! Let's hope you and your family are now going to stay healthy for a long long time

I can relate!! Sometimes it feels like I not only fell off the saddle, but that the horse kicked the *%@!*#) out of me, too!!

I hope that the week gets better and better for you. And that you can get out there and get back on track.

YAY I'm so glad you're back! I'm glad Payton's feeling better and I think you made the right choice by snuggling with her instead of running!!
Even though right now it may seem like you're starting over, you are going to bounce right back to where you left off, and get back on track no problem! Just take it a little easy and don't try to force yourself to run through vertigo! I have had some pretty bad episodes of vertigo over the past 5 years and they are not fun!!!

Wow, am I glad to see you! Battered and bruised from falling off the horse though you may be, I know you'll get back in that saddle one way or another. I'm so, so sorry you had to go through all of this!

There's nothing to forgive, no one could possibly blame you for not being able to catch up with all your many friends after this long. And no one could possibly blame you for taking care of yourself instead of reading everything we write, no matter how trivial, when you're not well. Continue to get back to full health, and if you have a little time to spare, use it to update us on YOUR journey.
