Sorry it's been aaages since I last blogged, but please know that I received each and every one of your goodies (thanks sooo very much) and wishes for a Happy Anniversary!
OK - things didn't quite go as planned as far as a weekend getaway...lil one ended up getting this bizarro fever thingie on Tuesday the 16th and I kept her out of school for two days - all was well and hunky dory on Friday so I sent her in to school figuring it was the last day of the week and she had been well over 24 hours without any trace of fevering going on. She was ok after school. BUT - (dang those BUTTS anyway lol) she mentioned before bedtime Friday night that she was freezing cold - so I gave her one dose of children's Advil anyways - just in case - sure enough - she woke Sat am at 1:45 on FIRE - 103.4 to be exact - the highest fever she's ever had in life...so...Saturday was spent battling this stupid azz fever full force - She was feeling great by around 6pm, so the plans dh made for our celebration were postponed until Sunday - which was a bit of a bummer since NOBODY goes OUT on a friggin Sunday - but wee one was well - and that's really all that mattered.
So - not sure if I mentioned that Sunday the 21st was not only our "get together" date, also it's my hubby's bday - (yeah, guess you could say I'm his ultimate bday gift hahaha) - soo...I knew the beginning of our "date" day was going to be more of a bday thing. BUT - since I'm hardcore into bikes now, I was stoked that we were going to the San Mateo Expo Center to the International Motorcycle Show!!! I know, I know, I sound like a total guy, right? But...wow - with all that power under one roof?? Harleys, street bikes, custom choppers - it was AWESOME!! Not only that, but we got to see Jason Britton - internationally reknown street bike stunt rider - I mean - we've been fans of his for years - he has a show on TV and all - and always seemed like such a nice guy...well...we saw his show in which I screamed so much I almost lost my voice - and were able to meet him face to face after!! Mike looked soo cute - like a kid in a candy store - he was meeting his idol for his birthday!! I was so happy for him - and Jason was so sweet - signed his posters "Happy Birthday Mike" and I took pics of him and Eric Hoenshell! I'm going to blow up the photos and have them framed for his "mancave" - talk about bragging rights!!!
Here's a link to who and what we saw:
It was a great time...totally NOT your average anniversary daytime event by any means- but I loved it - and the Mr. was indeed a very happy man - which in turn, makes me so happy as well! I even posed for a pic with Jason's wifey who we've seen on TV so many times as well - they were such nice people!
OK - fast fwd. On to part II of the date. I said, "ok, honey, part 2 of this date better be romantic!" I teased him since all he would tell me was it was for somewhere in the city of Crockett, which I'd never heard of. That we had to be there at 4:30 and that it would take us about an hour or so to get there. OK....my mind was wandering. I kept asking "is it this or is it that?" Finally he caved when I said it had to be some restaurant somewhere. He didn't tell me the name or anything until we drove up to this place overlooking the water. It was breathtaking. He explained before we got out of the car that he was researching online a restaurant with a waterfront view (since I'm a total water girl - and an Aquarian!!) with - now, get this - private cabana dining!!!!! OMG OMG...POINTS!!!! It was called The Dead Fish. Here's a link to the place - totally fancy, the nicest place I've been to in my friggin life...well known for their fresh daily catches and crab and, of course, the views!
We had our very own private cabana overlooking the water - and why 4:30 you may ask? Because he timed it perfectly for a sunset during dinner!!! This man sure knows how to make my heart smile. And I was all smiles. All that day. And all that night.
So...a great, exciting and romantic day for us. And I can't wait to spend more years with this man. He's changed for the better over the past couple months. Maybe it was just the whole not-having-a-job and being laid-off thing. I dunno. All I know is I am so much in love. And I FEEL it right back from him. And I still get goosebumps whenever we kiss. Twelve years of being together and 3 of being his wife. That's what you call magic.
I will post pics soon of everything - as soon as I can pull the digicam from his grips since he's been showing all his boys the pics. LOL!
I am happy - I am content.
Have a beautiful Thanksgiving holiday with those that are nearest and dearest to you. I will be thinking of you all and wish you all my very best!!!
