Wonderful Winter

This week has been most interesting. I figure that it's been a while since I've written an entry, so here's a short update on what's been going on in my life. emoticon

The day before Thanksgiving, I started to do my workout, when I noticed the warm air blowing out of the vents had become cold. I thought, oh, okay, guess I should turn up the temperature.. 80 degrees and ten minutes later, and still cold air was blowing out of the vents. Hmmm...
So to make a long story short, the maintenance crew came out and "repaired it", but said they needed to order a new part. Good thing I have some really warm clothes. I borrowed a radiant portable heater from a friend, which saved me from having some sleepless nights--but still the heating guys were less than eager to come back and fix the heater-which blew cold air again 1/2 hour after they left, and it's been 4 days with no heat except a small heater!!!
It snowed Saturday!!! Man, modern conveniences like heaters have spoiled me so. Ha Ha!

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest! emoticon Living in a small town is nice much of the time...

Sunday I made some chili and jalapeno cheddar cornbread, and worked on a potato recipe I'm planning on entering in a contest. The boyfriend said it was the best chili he's ever had! No small feat, since he's a bit of a food critic, and an awesome cook emoticon

Some personal goals I've added to my calendar for December are:
1. Try to not waste any food(bad for the planet and my pocketbook)
2. Practice yoga 2-3 times a week
3. Get some sun and go outside even if it's chilly-I'll miss it when I get to Portland:)
4. Do what I can fitness-wise(according to time I have in the day) and at the end of the day remember to praise my efforts
5. Make more plan ahead meals like soups and stews that I can reheat

Back to doing yoga to calm my nerves. I really enjoy my Yoga Zone Dvd's, the instructors give off such calming energy. I think it is much needed, hahaha! I'm definitely going to meditate today, and have a soothing cup of chai.

    Cold! I really dislike being cold. I'm so very grateful for indoor heating.

    You're goals sound like you're creating a wonderful life for yourself.
